Area Attractions

Swimmers can enjoy two public swimming beaches - Old Field Beach and Fox Island Beach.  There are also four designated boat/swim areas.

Indian Lake has several hiking trails - the Cherokee Trail, an easy three-mile walk through brushy habitat located west of the Indian Lake State Campgrounds and Pew Island Trails, a one-mile path which encircles Pew Island and affords a spectacular view of Indian Lake.  A four-mile paved bikeway is open to hikers and joggers and is located on the western banks between Old Field Beach and Russells Point.

If you need a shelter house for a get-together, the State Park office accepts reservations for five shelters.  The State Campground offers camping, a seasonal naturist program, playgrounds, bicycle and boat rentals.  For reservations, call 937-843-2717.

The only remnant of the Sandy Beach amusement Park is the bridge located at the Russells Point Harbor.

The Indian Lake Yacht Club was formed in the 1940's and claimed an island near the southern shore of the lake.  Today, sailing is a wonderful part of the summer.

One of the oldest and most famous places to eat is the Tilton Hilton at Turkey Foot Point.  Known for it's great food and slanting floors, the Tilton Hilton can be reached by land or water.

The famous donut shop is still located in the Russells Point Harbor across from the old Sandy Beach on St. Rt. 366.  The original sign has been shining over Russells Point for many years!

O'Connor's Point, a new development of waterfront homes is located on the East side of the lake.  The O'Connor's Restaurant and Lodge, a very popular establishment, once stood in this area. The restaurant was destroyed by fire in 1985.

The Bickham Covered Bridge is located on Twp. Rd. 38 and spans the Little Miami River leading to O'Connor's Point.  The bridge was built in the early 1920's and completely restored in 2002.
